A Year of Growth, Connection, and Community Magic

As we wrap up the year and look toward a hopeful new one, we’ve been reflecting on everything this community has made possible. When we look back, it’s hard to believe how much we accomplished together — with heart, grit, creativity, and the kind of kindness that truly defines Heartsmith Homestead.

This year was full of firsts, full of learning, and full of people showing up for one another. Here are just a few highlights we’re celebrating:

Community Events That Brought Us Together

We kicked off the year with our New Year’s Dance at the Mall, where more than a dozen community members came out to celebrate, move, and start the year with joy. Throughout the year, our events continued to create moments of connection, play, and belonging for people of all ages.

Circle of Open Hearts

For four months, we held a monthly mental-health discussion group that offered a gentle, supportive space for anyone who needed it. The honesty, courage, and compassion shared in that circle will stay with us forever.

We Became an Official 501(c)(3)!

A huge milestone — and one that opens the door to bigger dreams, more partnerships, and a stronger foundation for everything we do.

Kids Nature Program at the Mall

Our summer program empowered kids to explore, learn, and reconnect with the natural world. Their curiosity and laughter filled our hearts.

Farmer’s Market Outreach

From May through October, we held a consistent presence at the Farmer’s Market, building community relationships, welcoming new faces, and sharing what Heartsmith Homestead is all about.

Welcoming New Community Members

This year we opened our arms to new people — including someone transitioning out of prison, a disabled veteran, and other community members who needed a place to land. Creating space for stability, dignity, and connection is at the core of our mission, and we’re honored to be able to help.

And we did it all on bare-bones funding.

Every single achievement this year was powered by love, creativity, resourcefulness, and the determination to build something beautiful for our community. Imagine what we could do with sustainable funding and support!

Looking Ahead: A New Year Full of Possibility

As we head into another year, we’re excited to expand our programs, strengthen our outreach, host more community events, and grow Heartsmith Homestead into an even more vibrant, supportive, and joyful place.
