Rootbeer's Garden Club is Heartsmith’s whimsical monthly membership for families and friends who want to plant seeds of kindness and help our community grow! Led by Rootbeer, our curious little sasquatch mascot, this club isn’t just about gardens; It’s about belonging, being part of a caring group that supports nature-based learning, family fun, and community togetherness all year round.
As a Garden Club member, you’ll get special surprises in your mailbox: a cozy new Garden Club t-shirt every year, stickers, welcome gifts, and Rootbeer’s personal “Garden Notes” delivered each month. We sprinkle in member-only coupons for things like farmers market treats, snow cones, and special Heartsmith events. Plus, every December, Rootbeer sends a holiday card to remind you that you’re part of something special.

Always Looking for Land Stewards
Our 25 acres are slowly transforming into a space for healing, play, and community care—and that takes a lot of behind-the-scenes work.
We’re especially looking for volunteers who are:
Willing to weed-whack, trim trees, and clear branches in our forest areas
Comfortable using a tractor/backhoe or have experience digging trenches or holes
Familiar with rerouting rainwater or non-traditional septic setups
Up for spreading gravel, moving materials, or helping with small build projects
